Taking My Time Was Worth It...

Sometimes, even when we are rushed, it is good to slow down, take our time, and think about what we want to do...

I started this embroidered picture of my grandparents a few weeks ago. I was frustrated because it was taking me longer than I had wanted to get it finished. It wasn't a "take it and go" kind of piece. There was a lot of beading and a lot of contemplating...

Now that it is finished, I'm glad I was patient and thought it through. I still have some more thinking to do; I would like to use it in a fabric collage but nothing too fancy or busy...

Right now I'm going to be patient and let the ideas come to life, I'm also thinking about some words to go with it. I'll post more when it's completely finished. In the mean time, have a Blessed week.

It is beautiful! I am glad you took your time, it did pay off.

About your owl question, owls have twice as many vertebrate bones in their neck, which makes their neck extremely flexible. They can not turn their head all the way around, but they can go pretty far!

Cassie, it is absolutely beautiful, and your words about slowing down are so meaningful!
I'm currently writing a manuscript that is part lifestyle, part memoir, part animals and pets, part I don't know what all, and I want to include the message that we must take the time to appreciate our lives and all that is offered to us. Thanks for your beautiful posting!

You are so talented Cassie.
I popped on Paper Cloth and Scissors gallery recently and your stuff really does stand out from a lot of the other, because you do "take your time" I can tell.
You know I keep saying I have to learn embroidery...well tonight I am getting a one-on-one lesson on basic embroidery, and then a basic beading class directly after!
I am so excited, and have lots of ideas in my mind...a lot inspired by your work.
I will keep you posted.
Blessing on you too,
Cheers,
Leah

Cassie....your work is just beautiful. I often forget to slow down, as there's always so so much to do!

Thank you for your sweet words on my blog in regards to Fawnie's death. It is very empty here now. He was with me in the studio every day. I don't know how long I'll last without getting another puppy!!!

BTW...I'm following your blog now!! xoxoxoxoxo
